Thats Awesome !

dubdoc 08-08-2009 01:20 PM

My 2 liter torquemonster is complete and running very very strong. At 17 psi of boost it's the strongest thing I've driven in a looooong while. Sorry, it's not a TDI, it's an IDI.

zjohnsonua 09-03-2009 01:15 AM

my mom just got an '09 jetta sportwagen TDI. flip it into tiptronic and the thing is so much fun its stupid :choochoo:. just bump the shifter and it shifts faster than anything ive ever driven...and the shift is followed by a mountain of torque. youve gotta love these little engines

kirk4883 09-13-2009 11:35 PM

Hello
Newbie here. I have a 04 Jetta TDI 5 -spd. with 113,000 miles

Was bone stock until a month ago when the turbo started making really neat screaching noises :)

So now the VNT-17 upgrade is enroute. The straight pipe is installed. EGR gone. Will be going with the Kerma Q-loader as soon as the turbo is paid off!

I went to a 17" rims with a 215/45 tires. Was a massive improvement. Rides a little rougher but well worth the tradeoff.

Wyatt Earp 09-14-2009 10:10 AM

Is this car a 2004 or 2004.5 with the PD motor? The PD's are known for turbo problems but VW regardless of warranty usually takes care of it really quickly to save face.

The VNT-17 and 19 are nice though, eh?

Did you know that you can stuff a 2.5" turbo back exhaust under that car without doing any suspension mods?

If you have it riding different with those wheels I hope for your sake you've got an evolution aluminum skid plate on that thing. If not, kiss your oil pan and car good bye.

Cheers.

kirk4883 09-23-2009 08:37 PM

Yea I know they had problems with the turbo sludging up, but mine was a bearing failure, so it was my pocket. I also went with the EGR delete kit to prevent any future intake buildup.

The tire combo is actually only about 1/2" shorter than stock so I haven't had any problems yet, but with all the critters running around a skid plate is definitly in the plans.

2010 Jetta TDI Sedan

Just bought a new Jetta TDI. Thinking about buying the HPA DSG Flash and/or Bully Dog Rapid Power Module 44633.

Woody35 01-08-2010 12:30 AM

i would stay away from bully dog. not the best tuner in the tdi aftermarket by a longshot. not many people tuning the new cbea engine. you sure those companys are doing a reflash

PCTechman 01-08-2010 06:18 AM

Woody35,

Thanks for the heads-up on the BullyDog...

The DSG flash by HPA seems to be a worthy upgrade, I won't be using the sports/racing features but my thinking is the quicker shifts will produce a slight mpg increase along with extending the life of the trans/internals/clutches:

HPA Motorsports Inc. - DSG Performance Programming

Has anyone done this with their DSG? Anyone think this is a feasable upgrade?

Wyatt Earp 01-08-2010 09:52 AM

Well that really depends... If you service your car at a dealer that does Audi and Porche you can have them do this with a reflash - same computer, same transmission in the Audi / VW and same diesel motor in both as well.

That won't cost you $900 large but there is a cost to it. Plug and play modules are easier to do and cheaper as well.:w2:

2010 TDI Upgrades

I haven't been able to find much in the way of chips, programmers or flashes, I'm guessing it's b/c the technology is still new with these engines/ecu's.

Wyatt Earp 01-08-2010 10:10 AM

On a 2010 - maybe. Check the EU websites.

I would check with diesel tuning (do a google search, its the company that builds the best plug and play for the TDI from germany, sold here). Also, check out Kerma TDI and there's another place in Oregon, USA that escapes me at the moment but they may be able to help.

Maybe even evolution imports (around the corner from me here in Canada) might be able to help you.

USAFGopherMike 01-08-2010 11:03 AM

06 Jetta TDI, bought it a year ago with 40k mi, has 63k now, no problems, great daily driver, wicked gas mileage and fun to drive. Once truck is done (yeah right, is there such a thing?), I'll start modding the Jetta.

edit - almost forgot. G60 - well done. I'm jealous.

zrock 01-08-2010 11:43 AM

2006 Jetta TDI, Diesel Tune Chiped (with 2 spares man those guys stand behind their product), 18" spyn rims, Scan guage II, Vag com, Tint all the way around, 7" touch screen with 2 12" subs, Alum skid, Timming advanced (actually brought back into VW specs) Check yours you would be surprised we did 3 of them. Future upgrades incluse droping it 1 - 1.5", body kit, and exast

I higly recomment the diesel tunning chip these guys stand behind their product 200% iv never in my life seen better customer service. They replaced my box 2x in hops of eliminating a slight surge i was getting once and a while at 100km/h + turned out it was a VW tuning problem when i went back through the VW computer.Any questions i had i usually had a responce back within the day...

Hi, just joined looking for pump mods after google search.

I have an Audi A4 3.0TDi quattro

I'm having some issues with CP3 pump inlet regulator. Would appreciate any advice on a. the regulator

and

b. is this a good tuning route.

Mines a 204 hp and 330lb/ft torque... I'm told I can easily go 250hp and 405 lb/ft with an ECU tune.

Returns about 37 mpg UK average (about 32mpg in US) too...

ciao

My daily driver is a 2006 VW Jetta TDI, Pkg. 0, 5 spd, only option it has is Sirius.
I'm at 100,500 miles so far (had 8,500 when I got it).
I had to have a new clutch & flywheel under warranty (around 20,000 miles i think) but thats the only trouble I've had out of it.

barkrulz 06-24-2011 02:21 PM

just traded the 06 jetta for an 11 with the auto tranny, i prefer it in shift mode. wife drives it in sport around town and drive on highway.

I got my Vw almost a year ago its a 01 TDI Golf and I love it, it is going to be getting pp520 nozzles, q-logic tuning, upgraded clutch, rebuild the front end and also a 2.5" downpipe and a 3" in straight pipe. Wife drives a 1.8T Vw Jetta and I got my D-max. Al my vehicles are turboed :jump:

AfflictedPast 08-03-2011 12:59 PM

Bought my first TDI a couple weeks ago. 1997 Passat TDI, 5 speed, 132k miles, got it from the org owners with records since it was new.

Plan is to 2.5" straight pipe it this week, do a tune and nozzles next month.

2006 Jetta and a 2011 Toureg

cummins_guy 03-01-2012 09:21 AM

Just picked up 2006 TDI with 130000 mile

so what is the pros and cons?

dubdoc 03-01-2012 12:15 PM

+ Great mileage and lots of torque :c:
- The EGR setup will plug the intake manifold full and, if you try to use cheap oil, the intercooler will fill up with oil. :s:

01cummins13 03-25-2012 11:52 AM

Just traded for an 06 Jetta 5 spd TDI. Straight pipe and supposedly had the ecu flashed. maybe one day put a box and some injectors in. For now just enjoying the ride
