Depnds on where you live and what kinda guns. Lotta places have local ordinaces on it. But if you carry a CCW/FOID card your guns are in essence registered. Here in Illinois they passed a new law a few years ago that if a cop pulls you over and see's a FOID card in your wallet while your fishin out your license it is grounds to search your Auto under probable cause because you may be carrying an illegal firearm. All the gunshops had big postered plastered everywhere warning people about it.

This is quite discerning. I run a 2500 with a trailer that is taged for 17K. This puts me at 26,000 GCVW. My truck is blatenty advertising my boat business. When I'm towing it's for pleasure with 2-3 jeeps. I'm licensed, (class A non-cdl) have a DOT# and a letter from the DOT that says NOT to put it on my doors. When I registered I ended up classified as a registrant. Not a hauler. I wonder how this is going to play out. After talking with the DOT cop last year I was told I was legal.
There are thousands of 3/4 and 1 ton's around here that pull horse trailers, boats and bikes on the weekend. I see the cops being overwhelmed with trying to enforce this. Thene again I could see trucker profiling trying to nab the "bad drivers"

Hate puttin like that, but in the end this is what it's going to come down to. Pay the fee's or pay the fines.

I for one am going to fight if I get a ticket. The burden of proof is on the DA to prove I'm a business. If it's my junk and everything else is legal. They have no case.

Go to the following link and click on the "Medical Examination Report" in blue about half way down the page and it tells you everything they check for and gives a copy of the certificate you will get at the end of it.

I got to add my 2 cents on how the Class A requirements are read as how they have been explained to me.
"Class A -- Any combination of vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds"
I have been told that this means you need a class A if the combined weight of pulling vehicle and the trailer with cargo weigh over 26,001lbs.
Or if the weight or possible weight of the trailer and its cargo are capable of reaching the 10,000lb limit.
So if you have a 1 ton and lets just say it weighs 8000lb and you have a trailer rated at hauling 5000lbs and the trailer itself only weights 2000lbs you would not need a class A. Eventhough the truck is capable of GVW of more than 26,000. In this situation neither the trailer and its cargo can reach 10.000 nor is the entire setup registered at more than 26.001lbs.
So you guys hauling your mudder or racer on a trailer rated lower than 10,000lb combined should be fine. However you hook on a goose neck(just as an example) rated for hauling over 10,000lbs and 3 show cars. Then you need the class A.
