Some Bad News For You Pullers

Just a question, the phrase 1 ton truck has been mentioned throughout this thread, will this change also affect 3/4 ton trucks. I apologize if this is a stupid question, but my truck weighs about 7300lb empty, me in it, 1/8 tank of fuel. I'm runnin a 9000lb tag currently.
At the moment they are focussing on the 1 ton versions, but I suspect this will be shortlived and we will be included in this once they catch on to the difference. But at the same time don't get caught runnin that trailer or load that put's you over that plate limit.
No stupid questions here. Most all of us are feelin pretty stupid about this whole topic right now and your qustion will un-doubtedly help somebody else out as this goes.
Forgot to add somethin here for the 3/4T folks. All this also is contingent that you don't pull a trailer that draws attention to you possibly being in commerce such as loaded with a car or animals, or in excess of 10,000 pounds and that's hard to do. Basically if you pull a trailer this is going to catch you. A medium size car on a dual axle trailer is gonna push the 10,000 mark.

I am now looking at getting my CDL since I am sure that if I don't this will get me. As for the DOT numbers I am going to get a magnet that says "Not for Hire" hoping that this takes care of not needing these numbers. If that does not work for me the I guess that I will get the numbers and be out the money that they cost along with the higher insurance and such. Trust me if it gets to that I will start a company just for my hobby and show a loss thus getting into Uncle Sams pocket when tax times comes. Like I stated before I will play hard ball if he wants but he will not win with me

i just dont see how they can make any of this happen. look how many people own 1 ton trucks just because they want to. there are too many 1 ton trucks on the road for them to enforce it. there will be too much of an uproar if they try to do this. there are more people that have 1 ton trucks that tow for pleasure than buisness....sorry but i just dont see it happening..atleast the way i am understanding it. which is i own a 1 ton truck single wheel or dual wheel and i also own a mud boggin truck. now if i want to take that boggin truck from here in PA down to mudfest in FL i will need a cdl & dot numbers and if i weight more than 26001lbs combined weight between loaded trailer and truck i will also need appointed tags and ifta stickers???

Uncle Sam's gonna get ya no matter what. You may outsmart him for the short term but it's just a fact that he pays a lot a smart people a lot a money to out smart us and they're good at what they do. Even if you have him outsmarted and you find that loop hole, the first time anybody get's pulled over and plays that card they will close that loop hole and then the other 5000 guys usin it are screwed and they don't even know it yet.
