Default Floating my truck home

Yesterday my buddy and me along with the girlfriend drove 7 hours one way to pick up my truck that had broke down. We live in Sarnia, Ontario and drove to Pembroke, Ontario which is right on the quebec border. It took us 7 hours to get there, 8.5 to get home, and about $416.00 in fuel. My truck is an 05 6.0 Powerstroke and surprise surprise it blew the egr and oil cooler. That was about a month ago when we were on a snowmobile trip. Its still not fixed and its currently at my local dealer being fixed. I was waiting to hear back from ford to see if they would help with the bill because its just off warranty and only has 122,000kms plus its such a well known problem with these trucks. The bill was $3000.00 in pembroke and they said they would pay half. My local dealer said $1300.00 with the egr delete so I am trying to get ford to pay half of that bill. They dont know about the delete tho. My buddys truck is an 03 cummins 2500 4x4 and his 22ft flatbed. Hes got a 4 inch turbo back to duals with 5 inch tips. All and all it was a good trip other than a little snow on the way home.

01trailerpuller, I'm kinda surprised to see that its a 7.3. A 6.0 or 6.4 being towed is a common sight around here as well as them sitting behind homes and business dead. I see more cr cummins being towed than 7.3's. The common rails don't do good here because the two local gas station chains tell the delivery truck to mix whatever gas is left into the diesel tank. I even had fuel from the pump from two places sampled and it came back with 10%+ gas in the diesel.

Talk with any diesel mechanic Cummins CR are the most reliable motor on the market. But in your case I would sue the stations and make them pay for any repairs because that is not a manufacture's issue it is the gas station.

Have to disagree! parts would imply they are ready to go on another truck!

The rest is scrap metal that in its new life will be a KIA!
