My chocolate lab had a stroke lastnight
My lab of 12 years had a stroke lastnight and is now blind in both eyes. He has been the best dog I have ever owned, a true sweetheart. It's such a sad sight to see. The vet said he might have a chance of regaining some vision but most likely not. She said you would be amazed how they can cope with it. Its even worse on him because he's had loss of hearing for a good while now.
Just had to vent about it guys

Sorry to hear about your lab, I know our pets are truly part of the family and when something happens to them we feel the pain, like everything else support goes a long way. when a dog goes blind they can rely on smell pretty good, leave some of your unwashed clothes where they sleep, makes them feel comfortable.

Well, Duece got progressively worse last night and today. The fact that he's deaf has really been bad. He had given up his willpower. So we took him back to the vet today. She explained that he woul only get worse and new it. She just wanted us to have some more time together. But when I went to lay with him and he didn't lick my hand I knew he was not all there. I held him while they put him to sleep, then I took him to my parents house and buried on the hill overlooking his favorite spot to play at the lake.
