Two Stroke Oil Myth or Legend ?

2 Stroke Engine Oil should never be used as a lubricity replacement for Diesel Engines under any circumstances. 1.) 2 stroke engine oils are generally blended with up to 25% mineral spirits, thus causing a loss in BTU / HP. 2.) The additive chemistry formulated in 2 Stroke Engine Oil was not designed for the pressures in diesel fuel injection systems, especially in newer vehicles. 3.) The amount of Detergent (deposit control additive) is ten times stronger than that used in a fuel additives whether ours or some other leading additive companies. That being said, if your vehicle has any type of blow by, you run a good chance of poisoning your Catalytic Converter.

Then what would be the best "additive" to put in our trucks to make up for the lack of lubricity that ULSD is lacking

Use a good reputable company that has been in business for years. You want to use a company that has a solid reputation in the additive business. I would stay away from companies, that promote their products through Truck Pulls, or Stadium Sponsorships. I would lean toward companies that supply fuel additives to the refinery or fuel suppliers themselves. This will give you the ease of mind that the product has been field tested and proven from refinery to end user. There are a lot of backyard start up companies with out the proven years of field experience trying to ride on reputable additive companies.

No, and the reason why about 2 Stroke Oils, you can still form deposits on top of the cylinder heads themselves and also around the piston rings which could eventually cause piston ring deposits. This would be a cause for cylinder wear, which then could lead to fuel blow by, which leads to Fuel Dilution in your crankcase and shortened oil drains.
