i just bought a set of axles out of a 1992 cummins, looking to put a locker in the rear, the rear axle was made in 1991, i do not know if that makes a difference (the 70 rear in my 1990 has cone shaped inserts with a bolt, while the 70 i just bought has normal bolts with no cone inserts to deal with- thats the only change in design i can see between the two, the 70 out of the 92 could be trussed a little more also) . from the research i have done, 1984-1993 dana 70's are a 35 spline vs. the old 32 spline. i am open to used and new detroit lockers and whoever else makes one. the gear ratio in the axles is 4.10.
new ones are going for $620.00 (summit Racing), can anyone here beat that?
