Default Upgrades

I've been scouring the internet trying to figure out what to get for my new truck. I've worked on muscle cars but this is my first diesel. I just bought a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500. I've got most of my initial upgrades picked out and will be ordering them in a few weeks, I've to recover from Christmas spending first. I need a little help on the cold air intake though.

I am going to go with AFE but the information I've found on the internet is contradictory. I've found some sites listing models XP, CX and SI intakes. Some that say the XP is for the 5.9 only and one site that had two different part numbers for the CX. The only thing I can come up with is that the two part numbers for the CX are for either an oiled or dry filter version. The XP model has a larger air filter and is listed as either 5.9/6.7 or just 5.9 depending on the site so I'm a bit confused on that one.

What I need to know is which ones will actually work on the 6.7 and if you have any kind of comparison charts between the different models. Is a sealed intake system better, worse or the same as the CX and XP. Lastly are there any complications from running an oiled air filter? I read one article saying someone was having problems with the oil from the filter. I ran K&N on my old Mustang and never had a problem but I don't know if diesels are more sensative to something like that.

Here is a list of the other parts I would like a quote for along with quotes for whichever models of the AFE intakes will work with my truck.

Autometer NV full sweep electric guages - pyro, egt and boost
3 pod pillar for the guages

Intake as mentioned above

Air Dog 150

I will also be looking for a clutch not too long after I get these so any recommendations you can give on a good clutch would be appreicated. I will need one that will be able to handle anything I can throw at it. I only listed a few upgrades above but there will be many more in the future so I only want to have to do the clutch once.

Thanks.

We are testing a few items on a 6.7 right now. We have had real good luck with an Airaid intake over the last year. I will send prices for it, the AFE, and other items you mentioned.

Thanks,
Kenny
