Theres a major debate on cam issues right now. It appears some of the major name cam's are not performing as desired! The main goal for a cam is to reduce egt / increase spool and maybe a touch of power. None of the cams on the market have been able to really prove there weight in gold in this area, AKA there not worth the money of tearing a motor down just for a cam! Some of the major cams are also seeing high failure rates.
One thing, The Factory cam was very well designed , probably more so than most aftermarket cams. Secondly, Some of the cams on the market are using blanks..there the cams showing the least results, While the cams using regrinds are showing better results...
Now for everyone who disagrees with this post, I know many of you have cams and think there the greatest. Thats awesome, Glad you enjoy your purchase! I've seen time and time again, Dyno proven, Drag strip proven ....there not worth it in the 400-650 range. Maybe more benefit will be seen in higher horse trucks!
