Yes pending on the results of the R&D, we plan on offering most of our stacks in this black finish.
We have a set of 5" black ceramic's on a truck right now, and the owner told me that after he drives the truck, he noticed the coating feels "tacky"...but nothing smuges or wipes off. My big concern is I do not want flakeing.

the tackyness is normal for Powder coating. it cures at a hair over 450* and becomes fluid at around 250*+..... the good thing is that when it gets "sticky" feeling it won't chip, the bad thing is that heating and cooling powder over and over will more than likely make it crack or peel depending on hos the coater preped the pipe. also when the pipe becomes "sticky feeling" do bugs stick to it worse and make indentations in the coating above the cab? i run ya'll's 36" mitres and mine sticks above the cab 4-5 inches and they get ate up by bugs....

I just seen you're truck is a Gen 2 Dodge...that's why the stacks are so far over the cab...LOL they had smaller cabs then, so the 36" stack does stick up over the cab like that...you need some 30" stacks...
Tell ya what, when the R&D is done on the stacks I have, I'll see about hooking you up with a pair, in order to get some different trucks for advertising.

thinking about this (i do powder coating too) i think i am on the right track here but let me know if i am not right. the black is a ceramic coating, but what is the clear? paint or powder? i have never seen clear Ceramic coating before.... not that there might be though.... just thinking out loud here
