Help Needed From Those With Stacks
#63
Didn't we defeat the ****'s ???
I just spent the day in court fighting idiots who quite frankly have no clue !!! Before I say anything I just want to say if you have never worn a uniform and served your country or been elected to public office there is still time for each and everyone of you to make a difference in our country and help stop some of the stupidity by voting and supporting someone you know will get the job done in your town. Most importantly SERVE ON A JURY and make damn sure regardless what the BAR Association judges and lawyers say that you decide the case justly and influence the other jurors to use common sense !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
_ Now as for stacks, regardless who has a patent on a kit; you can always design and build your own even if it looks just like their's !!! You just won't be able to build one just like their's for resale (out the front door), unless you change it to be at least 15% different !!!
_ Now as far as inventing stacks in pickup trucks HA! HA! HA! How about a Model-T with four straight pipes from the head all the way to the back of the cab and up through the bed, granted they were only 1" water pipe but hey it was the coolest old truck parked next to the Family Texaco Station with rusty condensed milk cans covering them from the rain ! And in the late sixties we built a set out of old Cadillac drive-shafts because they were like 4"dia. x 6' L and they were hooked to a 265 in my Dad's '57; he also had a '49 Chevy with 8 straight pipes out the back lined up under the bumper hooked to a straight 8 engine (NOT A V)!!!
_ Also I'm willing to bet I have some old photos some where of 60's model Chevy trucks with old Corvette side pipes running up through the bed (where Dodge got the idea for the Lil'Red Express in '78), because it was a COOL in thing to do in the 70's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a couple guys trying to say they came up with the "through bed" exhaust idea first. They currently have a patent pending about that. So needless to say if this patent goes through, the manufactures will have to pay a royalty, plus any do it your selfer will have to be cautious, because of the patent. So any photo's or other proofs prior to February 25 2002, will null and void this patent.
tho there really is no chance in hell, unless he handing someone money. i wish i had the address of said person. so i could nail his/her head to a tree with a pick!

I emailed this to a friend of mine who is a patent atty. Below is his response:
That's a perfect example of a patent that isn't worth the cost of prosecuting it. If you look at independent claim 1...the only person you can sue on it is either a manufacturer of pickup trucks that puts that exhaust on it OR the end user...you and me. That would go over like a fart in church. Besides, I bet you dollars to donuts that you could knock out that patent in a real hurry.
