Well I see I am missed .
Yes, the MITUSA is a gear driven vacuum pump. It is as good of a lift pump as you can get . It is adjustable as to the max psi and is easily adjusted with a regulator valve.
It works well with a dual cp3 , as most lift pumps are pusher pumps , pushing fuel through the system . The MITUSA is a vacuum pump sucking fuel through it . It is a belt driven pump that has a bypass so if the belt breaks the system still works. This I can tell you is most lift pumps will hold high idle psi which is not needed as the pushing of the pumps is at a constant voltage, but decline as rpms go up. The MITUSA is a RPM belt driven pump where it goes up as RPMS go up. I have this set up with dual cp3 and have had it with one cp3. The dual mounting system I run is a redesign of the HERTZ bracket and my own plumbing design. It will hold 14 psi at WOT with 26K on the rail and such. Here are a few pics of my mounts and set up. Its 304 Stainless bracket I made with a 4140 Retaining nut to run the second pulley . It is A design I revised from a prototype on a race truck. I have been involved with .

Belt driven lift pump...
What's the approximate price of these things? I don't see it running out of fuel that easy, nor do I see it that expensive... Don't know where I could find a pump like that.
Although... Makes me wonder what kind of flow rate a junkyard power steering pump would make. I've got the air conditioning mount available, so I could probably fab a second pump down there...
