Default Fuel Pump failure

04 F250 6.0L

3 weeks ago my truck died and i slowly figured out that the Fuel pump failed. I replaced the Fuel pump with OEM part. After doing so the truck started and ran for about an hour and then failed again. This time it blew out the fuse 20 AMP. i replaced the fuse and regained power to the pump. I also have replaced the pump again. The truck started and ran for about an hour and i noticed that if i touched the pump casing it was really hot. (not sure if this is some what normal or not) and the truck died again. so I am wondering what would cause the pump to fail in this fashion. My next steps are to check to voltage to the pump and also take the fuel lines off that run to the tank and make sure that they are not clogged.

UPDATE

i replaced the fuel regulator with a blue spring kit and now i have some issues that in 45 minutes the fuel pump dies and now when the truck sits it losses fuel pressure
