Hello everyone. New here on the forum. I know this question has been asked a million and one times. And I've spent hours online researching it but I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I currently drive a 2000 Mustang GT and am in the process of doing an 01 cobra swap in it. And after 2 winters of driving it in the snow I don't want to do another one. So I'm looking for a diesel truck soon. I know some people might recommend just a gas truck but after driving multiple gas trucks I just am not a big fan of them compared to diesel trucks. And driving an hour every weekend to and from work the added MPG of diesel would be nice this winter. So this brings me back to my point. I'm stuck between the late 90's 5.9 cummins and the late 90's and and early 2000's powerstrokes. I've always been a huge ford fan but I like the cummins and the body style of the late 90's dodge trucks. Id like to do some performance modding but nothing extremely crazy. Sorry for the long message. I'm just pretty new to diesel trucks having really no experience with them other than my dads 6.0 powerstroke and I couldn't find anything that really helped me make my mind up.

I hear ya.... drove nothin but fords for the last 25 years.... had my cummins for about 6 yrs now. Don't know what the new powerstrokes have to offer in fuel economy. ... but if u do the research. .. you'll find the ps , and has been tested by all genres, best you will get is about 22mpg. Not bad.... but it ain't 30 mpg u will get from a cummins with very little out of pocket expense ! So... do u want to be cummins.... or just stroking ?? :-)
