Long keep both or sell 1?
This is a question I keep asking myself over&over which truck to keep? Now 1st in a 99 cummins 4x4 long bed half doors in the back.It needs new fenders new doors&hood..no biggie I have em all lined up for 250.00 besides that all the truck needs is a couple joints on the front drive shaft.Its leather all options super clean on the inside besides 1 tear in drivers seat . Stars everytime drives runs like a top 236k on it rebuilt trans new rear end &starter.
Next 99.5 f350 4x4 crew cab dually long bed a few dings but no rust or rot 1 dually fender has a crack. IT was slow off the line but than ran fine got it@a steal because of the problem issue I put it in shop they told me #1#3&7 were bad but also told me that the uvch that power em was half unplugged & that when they tryd 2 plug back in it broke, also 1 bad glow plug on each bank.So I thought probably uvch not injectors, swapped out all 8 gps&both uvchs.No start now.But injectors pass buzz test. I Was starting it when it was summer with car batteries only 550 cca instead of 850 cca since I fooled with it she won't start. So I figure it's because of the cold,&the ccas off the batt.
So right now charging batts outta cummins&got the 7.3 plugged up.Gonna see of it'll start.Now I'll have some extra cash soon so I can ever whatever needs fixed, fixed.It has 364k but was a ford service truck inside is just dirty nothing a good cleaning wouldnt fix.Now Im looking to keep 1 of these forever if possible.Since I restore cars 4 a living that's not. Worry.I just really love the ford but they seem sooo hard to work on.And the cummins seems pretty simple.But the body on the ford looks a lot better.I was gonna retro fit a 2012 front end on it with same duallu fenders as the 0 12 . Everybody is offering me 4-5 k for the ford un running but these things blue book for alot when running. I just dislike 3 things about the ford the difficulties of working on them, next your price for wheels& tires seeings theres 2 extra & that you cannot put a body lift on the Ford I like the body being lifted up the extra 3 inches to gain space to work on the motor I had one on my last dodge over the lifesaver. An extra four or five grand does sound nice around the holidays.But I never buy nothing new and I'm never going to run out and buy a brand new truck& if I end up wanting another one of these in the future the price on them are only going to be up there more so part of me thinks just keep it and fix it.&then sell the dodge.The other heart says keep both because when my last truck went out& I didn't have a truck any longer that sucked really bad.Anyways this is more of just a rant but what are your guys's thoughts? Please forgive the poor grammar and punctuation.
