powerstroke 7.3 slight miss cold-injectors-002.jpgOk pulled all the injectors, waiting on my new sleeves, injector coil, and removal install tool. will see hoe it all works out. But i think all my issues where centerd around cyl. #3 the cup was cracked had a bad o-ring and a dead injector coil.

here is my homebuild injector cup puller with the instal driver..... total cost to build 55.00 dallors. rosewood which is the cheapest i found sells them for $235.00.
I used a 1" harbor frieght tap that came out of there 6 tap set cost 43.00.
the bolt was a 1/2 inch with 2. 3/4 nuts.
for the driver i used 2" 6061 bar stock and turned it down to the shap of the injector.... i also had to turn down the legth of the handle area as it was to fat to fit in the injector hole. I have also read about guys using bad injectors to drive the new cup in if u dont have a lathe handy. the rest of this can be made with just a cut off wheel and mig welder.....powerstroke 7.3 slight miss cold-truck-air-filter-004.jpg

Default Miss when cold

Ok guys ill pickur brain again if you dont mind.
replaced both cracked injector cups and all injector o-rings. still have a slight miss, seems to take longer cranking to start but seems to be getting better the more it runs (almost like its bleeding air out) but my big problem is after fixing all the injector issues i know have coolant pumping out of the over flow at the cap. the cooloant coming out is cold to the touch and the temp gauge show normal. Ive tried 2 diffrent caps both off of daily driven trucks. and it continues to pump coolant out if.
my first reaction would be a bad head gasket but im not getting any bubbles that i can see with the cap off. i also dont have any smoke from burning coolant, could this be caused by a bad thermostat and or water pump blockage?
or could all these symptoms just be a bad head gasket slight miss when cold, over pressurized coolant system?
any help is greatly app. i enjoy working on this truck but it seeming endless..

ok coolant problem corrected its self. after a change of pants. the new injector sleeves seated themselves after some 2 run cycles.... no more coolant leak... truck runs better but still misses after a rescan and some trouble shooting narrowed it down to a bad harness and bad idm... latest fault codes p0266 p0267 p1298 so going have to break down and buy an idm... anyone have one for sale?

Hey Camarokiller6, im new here but with your coolant/thermostat issue, you might want to try a 203* thermostat and NPG Coolant form dieselsite.com. Tell me what differences you notice with your truck.
