Sad White smokin it??? need some help

Howdy yall I have a 2001 7.3 with a ts 6 pos chip with custom tunes. The other day when i switched it over to my black smoke settin I noticed the smoke commin out was white and thin and not black and thick like im used to seein. Now the truck runs fine on all settings of the chip and sometimes the smoke is black but about a third of the time or more recently the smoke has been gray or white. what should I do??? I was wonderin if maybe its the fuel filter or if there is water in the tank or just some bad diesel?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I highly doubt its a headgasket... 7.3's rarely pop unless your running larger injectors and pushing over 40# boost.

I would bet its a turbo seal, or turbo shaft that is going and your getting some blue/white there. It could be injector O rings or Injector cups as well.

any way to check a turbo out other than pulling it and opeing it up? I ask because I am having similar issues with white gray blueish smoke on occasions. sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. I know it is not injector orings because I just changed them few thousand miles back and no oil in fuel filter. as for injector cups I am not getting fuel in the coolant.

Remove the intake track and grab the wheel shaft (with the truck off of course...LOL) and feel for play. A little is ok but alot is not...

I was having the same problem. Took aftercooler pipe off and found it to be full of oil. Ordered new turbo.

K will double check it. I know a few thousand miles back I put my wicked wheel on and didn't have much play at all then. How many miles on average do our turbos last at stock form.

Your intercooler pipes will have oil in them unless you delete your CCV...
Now if your down pipe had oil in it that would be bad VERY bad
