what transfer case is in my 2003 7.3? i broke mine

How the hell did you break the T case?

Electric or manual shift?

Should be a NP 271 if its a manual or a @73 if its electric shift.





That's a 271. a 273 is the same thing only with an elctric motor on the front.

its electric, and my front drive line came off, the bolts that hold it to the transfer case snapped and it bounced around in there and smacked a hole in the top of the case

ouch.

Call up Transfer Case Express. They usually have some used cases for a fairly reasonable price. I had to buy both case halves for my 271 and it was around $300 or so if I remember right.

Transfer Case Express, Inc. ? New, rebuilt transfer cases ( transfercase ). Lowest prices. In California, world-wide delivery

Ouch... Thats about the only way your going to break our cases... I did the same thing, rear drive shaft broke, cracking the tranny case... SUCKED!

Mine was the front Double Cardan joint. Bad vibration then clank pop pop pop. Broke both halves of the case Funny thing was if I put it in 4wd the popping went away

I called up a local salvage yard and picked up my replacement one for $500. Mine was from the double cardigan as well.
