Default inj pressure

What should the injector pressure percentage read while cranking,00 f350,still trying to diag no start.45 degrees here in Mi and this POS still won,t start unless plugged in.Shouldn,t I be seeing smoke while cranking, even a little, all my gm deisels smoked on start even when they didn't start.

If you aren't getting any smoke during an extended crank, then you're not getting any fuel or oil.

The injection control pressure regulator duty cycle should start at 15 or so percent and then go up to around 50% after 10-15 seconds of cranking. What does your ICP parameter say your pressure is during this no-start?

Here's a test you can do. Crank it with the hood open and listen for the injectors; you can hear the solenoids clicking if there is 450+ psi of HPO. If they're not clicking, unplug the ICP sensor and you should hear them click while cranking. If you hear the solenoids clicking after the sensor is unplugged then you either don't have any injection pressure or you have a bad sensor or wiring.

How good of a digital multimeter do you have? Check the voltage of the batteries while cranking. One bad battery can definitely cause your issue. I've been there numerous times. The battery voltage may be dropping enough during cranking when it's cold that the IDM won't command injector solenoid actuation.

Yup... Unplug the ICP sensor as a test, that way the PCM will go to default settings and the injectors will try to fire even without the required 400psi.

If not then, I would pull the IPR and clean it... Look up in the sticky at the top, there are several things in there that will help out.

15psi koeo-35psi while cranking, two brand new carquest gold batts, new bosch gp,relay new when I bought the truck, tested it with FLUKE dvom.Just ran out and started truck, was plugged in,icp was minimum 500psi but inj pressure % was around 11 at idle.Ambient air temp is now 70degrees.Thanks for your time!
PS, IPR sticking cold?

Duty cycle is fine, ICP at idle is fine...

What is the 15psi KOEO and 35psi cranking? ICP pressures???

IPR could be sticking cold... I dont know, at this point I would have to put hands on to help much more...

key on engine off 15psi injector pressure percentage, cranking was 35 injection pressure percent.Would take me two days drivin for the hands on thing, but I appreciate all your help.I bought a Ford manual on cd but cant get it to work in thia computer for some reason, maybe ford has a lock on them or something, would like to get all the parameters to help diag this thing before it drives me nuts. What should the map sensor read at idle......or say cruising speed?Oh well thanks again...

15% not 15psi right?

Map should read absolute air pressure, so about 12-16psi depending on where your at... MAP sensor has nothing to do with the truck starting. You dont even need the map hooked up.

You need to know right off the bat:

Actual injection control pressure

It seems to me that your commanded IPR percentage is doing what it should be doing. It's trying to compensate for no ICP by raising the regulator percentage.

KOEO tells nothing. Needs to be cranking pressures.
