Default oil leak

Ok I know this is a leak....question is... Is this enough of a leak to leave an oil spot on the ground 4x4 inches?? What needs to be replaced here??

That oil there is from your crank case vent... Drivers side valve cover, you will see a "dog house" on the back of the valve cover that has a hose feeding into the intake. The crank case vapors are fed into the intake, thru the turbo and IC and then into the motor... The oil you see on both IC tubes is from that.

Ford in there wisdom also gave us IC boots that are not oil resistant... smart huh...

You can reroute the CCV down the frame rail and just dump it there. You may get a drop or two of oil when you park but it keeps the boots and IC free of oil.

If you have that much oil on the ground I would bet you have a HPO leak or a turbo pedistal leak. Is it dripping down the inspection cover under the truck?

Default Oil leak

My friend has a '02 PSD and I have a '00 PSD. After a several thousand miles on a new oil change, both he and I have noticed a couple drip spots on our driveways, he says this is our trucks "telling" us it's time to change the oil.

Man CSI I have oil all over the tranny and what I think you are saying is the inspection cover. When I changed my clutch I thought it woul be the rear main seal...It wasnt, that was dry. But the top of the motor is wet with oil under the turbo more to the passenger side....The doghouse is wet as well

Check in the valley, clean it really good one day and then put some paper towels under the HPOP and the turbo pedistal, see if you can see the leak.

I would bet its the turbo pedistal, as thats the most common, but it could be the IPR or HPOP...

I use a degreaser of your choice on a warm motor... Spray it good, let it soak, spray it again and wash with a hose using a nozzle. Repeat... repeat... repeat until clean... It helps to park on a slight incline so everything runs out of the valley...
