Fuel pump issues
About three weeks ago my 96 was idling in the driveway and started sounding like it was starving for fuel and in a matter of about 30 seconds died. The level of fuel in the fuel bowl clearly stated it ran out of fuel. With 1/4 tank of fuel this shouldnt be possible, but I primed the bowl again and after several cranking sessions and not even a puff of white smoke I say the fuel pump is out. What do yall think. Another thing I took off one of the fuel lines from the regulator and its just barely trickeling fuel out at normal cranking speed. Any advice would be much appreciated.

You have to pull the fuel canister out to change the pump anyway.
I'd pull the canister and put a vac pump on the fuel line and see if you can draw fuel from the tank that way.
If you get fuel then the pick-up is good and throw a new pump on there, and it's not that bad really.
Just remember to unbolt the pump and turn the crank by hand till you see the fuel pump lift up out of the bore. You don't want to try to pull it out with the cam lobe down or the tappet might fall into the motor.
