Actually...

Check the map line, it's a vacuum line that plugs in to the top of the intake manifold on the passenger side. Make sure it's plugged on the nipple all the way.

surging is most commonly the ICP sensor, when they go bad they lie to the computer saying there is more presure than there realy is, so the computer thinks it has more pressure and open the ipr more to get pressure to right levl but that makes the truck run like POOP, then the ICP shows actual pressure and the truck will surge because everything is corect, most of the time the surge happes when the ICP is showing the correct value.

Good to know Bob. Something I had not thought about, as I haven't really had to deal with ICP issues much (05+ trucks for the most part).

I have been noticing a trend, especially with HPOP issues, the 03/04 seem to show different signs when the HPOP is going bad versus the 05+... 03/04 seem to run like crap and die a slow death, most of the 05+ trucks just flat out die out of the blue... interesting.
