Tell us more about the truck. How many miles? How is it used? Does it idle a lot? Does it tow anything, or is it a grocery getter.

Have you tried just simply pulling the EGR valve and cleaning it? Probably what it is if it's still there...

it has 88000 miles on it it doesn't tow hardly at all. doesnt idle a lot mainly wifes truck so she doesn't drive it hard, the egr valve has never been pulled or cleaned, plan on doing that just from what i heard it needs cleaned. would it sticking open have an effect. im still learning bout diesels worked mainly on older gas engines

Have you checked your battery load that's always a good idea. That can cause the film to act up.

New FICM's aren't any better than the old ones, they will all fail until repaired properly. Though, at 1 month old it's probably fine.

Clean the EGR, or better yet just delete the whole setup.
