Default Is egr delete for me?

Have read a lot about egr deletes. What are the pros and cons do this. I have a 05 250 with 6.0 and 175,000 miles. Would I need a sct and tune it to kill check engine light. Read this delete is good for my motor. Why is that?

Lower EGTs motor will last longer. EGR delete is for everyone. Unless your in cali or some emission state.

EGR deleted will help prevent the hot exhaust gases from flash boiling the coolant inside the EGR cooler. This could prevent rupturing the EGR cooler and preventing possible hydrolocking the motor.

They all do the same thing. Or you can pull your egr and just weld the holes. As for the sct if your looking to get custom tunes id order it from someone who writes them.

I think there are some pictures floating around or you can just google it. Just have to plug some holes pretty easy.

The passenger side up-pipe will need to be removed. There is a small "T" that get welded shut. "Sneaky pipe" mod is what it's called.

I would go ahead and take the EGR cooler out and have that welded too. Just welding the up-pipe and leaving the egr cooler can still have negative effects, as the cooler itself can still rupture. If you weld plates into the end of the egr cooler then there is no way coolant can get into the motor through that area, even if it ruptures.

A delete kit can be had for ~ $150 on ebay now anyways.
