Default 6.0 injectors

I just bought an 05 250 6.0 it only has 170000 miles and the only codes it are throwing are a misfire from number1 and 5 injector. You only notice it when it first cranks and not every time. Should I replace them or try to run additive in the oil to clean them. Have heard when they are pulled a lot of time they are still good just have build up.

Rev-X seems to work well cleaning up the injector. worth a try.

Load test your batteries then if they are good do the FICM test. The sticky on how to do that is above this forum. Do this before you start throwing parts or additives at it.

Agreed, make sure batteries pass a load test, and then test the FICM.

Once that is out of the way, then you can try some rev-x.

Do you have the actual code numbers? I'd be interested in seeing them.

No don't have the code numbers had it done before I bought the truck. Said number 1 and five. When I first crank it in the morning it runs a little rough then runs like a dream. Only had it two weeks and got a killer deal from a wholesaler I know. It is my pride and joy to say the least. Gotta work on the death wobble and getting my egr cooler welded up.

Yeah that sounds like a typical sticky injector situation, which a lot of times is from a weak FICM.

Get those batteries tested and test the FICM. Interested to see the test results. Test procedure is at the top of the 6.0 page.
