Default which way to go?

Ok I know this was probably going to be coming but i was wishing it would have been later...
I was running the edge programmer (but now have switched to sct custom tunes from IDP)

Before I switched to sct I thought I had an injector going again as truck was driving rough and pulsing going down the rd in over drive. I put rev-x in and thought it was gone, But now I think I have found the problem.
THE TRANNY , I know I am going to hear it - "we told ya"

This is where I am at: I have been reading about the 5r110 and I have learned there is alot of options. I have read that if the tranny finds itself slipping it will skip that gear until its cool or re able to engage fully.(If this is true then it would explain why my truck went from 1 to 4 after I thought it slipped in 2 and 3 while hammering on it from a light)(but no tow-haul flashing) I do beat on it sometimes, and i do take it to the truck pulls about 5 times a summer. Its mainly a daily driver tho.

OK the tranny doesnt feel right like it did about 20000 km ago, i have noticed it acting funny for about a month now. I just changed the oil and filters (in line and pan) in it - it had about 50000km on it but it was dark looking! Also changed the rad as coolant top leaking , so its a new cooler. I had no metal fines or contaminates in the filters or pan mag. I am thinking its on it way out and I am thinking of rebuilding it or replacing it but not 100% sure which way i want to go. so looking for info or opinions:
these are what i am thinkingkinda want to stay under $5000.00)

I looking at turq-convert - banks,BD diesel or any other units any body would recomend

if i rebuild thinking kits like: Sun Coast iron pac-3 $935, plus shafts etc, or BD diesel stage -4 master build kit $2500 , not sure on why the big diff in prices or if both are complete kits so i wont need anything else???? ( like this idea so i can give work to a local shop to build)

Now for complete replacements (think both are in canada so no duty)

BD power built replacement think around $5900 but you get $2000 back for the core minus shipping cost
NADP heavy hauler- $5500 but cant find much info

Sorry about the long post but its late and this has been on my mind all day , I would really appreciate lots or any major info that can help me out

Have a few friends who have had pretty good luck with this setup.

You couldn't give me an ATS transmission. They have got to have the wrist customer service history record going, and their transmissions don't seem much better either. NADP is right in Canada, they have some odd the best transmissions. For your mods... I'd put another stocker in and get good tuning this time. It is vital to the life of a 5r110. I'd you must get a built transmission, NADP, BTS, John Woods, Twisted, MPD, Elite diesel etc...

Just an fyj, the factory torque converter is already a triple disc. But if you wanted a better unit, river city makes a nice one and precision converters are top notch too

No, that will be fine. You just need good custom tuning. If anything, a GoGo direct solenoid will help too, they're only $150 or so. Helps eliminate the 3-5 shift flare.

I would try getting this thing on a good scanner first to ensure it's transmission issues and not something else.

No ATS huh? Good to know. I know two guys who run em, with no issues at all.

+1 on a good tune. Makes all the difference in the world.

Google search "ATS transmission reviews" the first 5 or 6 posts start with something like "ripoff artists" "junk transmission" etc....
