Why do you want to lower it more? What are you using the truck for? Some better tuning would probably be the first step though. Sell all of the bullydog power adder stuff and go with some custom tunes via an SCT. 1300 isn't much though... I mean is that a 1/4 mile run or you're hauling a trailer up hill or what? Could always add a water/meth setup and just keep the water count high, like 70% water 30% meth, or even more like 80/20. They say rough rule of thumb, to not hold EGT's over 1250* for extended periods of time, but you can certainly go over in short bursts. I know I've had my 1600* gauge maxed a couple of times.

No I wasn't pulln nothin. That's just getting on it a lil more then half way. My plan is to sell the bully dog bs cuz when it hits 1300 the truck defuels an u can't do nothin till it gets below that. So it makes it hard to see what the truck really has runn down the highway or just Messn around town with buddy's. I pull a trailer with it sum but my just a dd to an from work

That should be user programmable on the tuner itself, I'd imagine you can shut that off no? Or, at least change it to a higher number. I'd get rid of it anyways, forget about the defueling, the transmission is what is going to take the real punishment.

I hear that! You should be able to sell that BD stuff on ebay or cragislist to the next unsuspecting victim.

Find a used X-cal 2 on the cheap on the boards, just make sure the vehicle it's coming from was returned to stock flash, and make sure it has "unlocks" left. The guy selling it should know the answers to these. I've seen them in the $150 price range. Then call up Innovative Diesel, or Gearhead and tell them what you're after, and they will most likely ask you some questions and recommend a tune. Tunes range from $25-$80 from what I've seen, and some places do packages. Innovative does a 3 for $165 deal. Your transmission will thank you. Tell them you have stock headbolts and they can recommend something mild for you.

I'm not sure man, I'm not terribly familiar with those units, but I believe most of them just plug into the OBD port. Not sure if it runs through the firewall or not like some of the Banks units. Just make sure to put it all back to stock first.
