Default Info please

I have heard of a scan tool that interfaces with a laptop that will all one to read codes and flash the ficm and pcm, does anyone know of this and where I get more info on them.

Also what is wds reading about the ficm and site keeps refering to wds but does not tell what it stands for. I'm thinking it is one of these tools.
Thanks
Alton

Auto Enginuity with Ford Support Pack... Costs about $360, but an AWESOME diagnostic tool! Mine has more than paid for itself!

I remember one at my old place of work we had and the obd2 plugin worked via bluetooth and you could control injectors and flash and all that but I can't remember what it was called

It was $1,750 with an annual $100 upgrade fee

It did everything a dealer could do but flash it with the newest firmware.

AutoEnginuity is one of the most popular, and can do QUITE a bit, but I don't think you can flash the PCM or FICM with it. You can do cylinder contribution tests, control the VGT of the charger, and do many other things with it for sure, it's quite a powerful tool at only $350 or whatever it is.

To do what you want, I think Ford's IDS is needed, or something similar. Not familiar with WDS though, thinking you meant IDS maybe? AE is what most of us guys use though that are not a professional shop.
