I noticed not a single change my putting an intake on mine, though others have said they did, maybe a more open design would. Intake elbows are useless on these trucks and a complete waste of money IMO.

The real restriction is the intake manifold...

on a 6.0, its not if u pop the headgaskets, its when and how many times.

everything people have said is spot on for what u should do. if u put a big tune on it, u will pop the HG in no time at all. i dont know ur driving style, but if u drive hard, i would put the programmer of economy or have a custom low hp tune wrote for it and delete the egr. and save for head studs
I love these '6.0s are ticking timebomb posts! Someone forgot to tell my truck about this. I've used Edge (Hot Unlock), IDP Extreme Street, Gear Heads SRL, I run high 13s and I do it ALL of OEM bolts. I don't stand on it below 188~191 degrees, and I keep up on my maintenance. I don't try to set land speed endurance records, but my truck gets plenty of throttle time.

'Drive like an ***/work on your truck' has been what I have read and experienced as the common denominator.

My 06 has an AFE stage 1 with a proguard 7 dry filter, not a lick of difference in turbo noise or intake noise. Perhaps a stage 2 setup would allow more air. I've heard people say the intakes make more noise, but I don't hear it one bit. I'm certainly not going to spend $250+ on an intake elbow for noise if that's all it does though... they're more of a "bling" thing

The ONLY time my turbo whistle got louder was when I did exhaust work, NOT intake. Taking out the resonator REALLY made my 2003 whistle!

QTP electric exhaust cutout was one of my favorite purchases! I can be as loud as i want or quiet as i want at a flip of a switch on the dash. With the cutout open, almost as loud and whistly as a straight pipe. Closed, blows through the rest of my MBRP 4" muffler and exhaust. Kinda the best of both worlds....just food for thought for ya.

I rode in a 70 Camaro with a 454 and an 8-71 blower (YE-YEAH!) that had those electric cut outs. I don't know what it did for performance, but in the 'switches are fun to play with' category, it was WAY COOL!
