HeavyAssault is right, it messes with that auto-lock feature doing it this way. Not the end of the world, just as long as you know this going in. I think if you try to lock it with anything BUT the key-fob, the door will automatically unlock itself. You HAVE to use the key-fob to lock the doors.
There have been a few times that I have left the lights on and that bell reminded me. How did I ever survive the 80s and 90s with vehicles that didn't tell me those things?

Key-fob? Que es key-fob!?! You guys must have some high end, Lincoln Super Duty. Mine never had a fey-fob. Wonder if the previous owner kept it....

What package is your truck? XLT? You can get key fobs relatively cheap, and they're super easy to program bud. Look on ebay.

If the truck doesn't go into program mode, then I'm not sure what the heck is going on.
Monster12V, what programming method are you trying? I believe I have the instructions out in my truck still when I put a keyless pad on my sisters escape. Which was cool to add too, only $80 or so.
