It shouldn't, it might drop a little as the air is being removed because it was drained, most motors will settle at there own level, most of the time it is right at the min line wich is the new max line, if you degas bottle doesn't have a sticker put on it from the dealer then make sure you only fill to the min line. If you were pushing fluid out the cap because of a bad headgasket then it might be wise to replace the cap, seems pretty common once the caps purge alot they don't hold the proper presure anymore.

Ford says anytime a cap has pushed coolant to replace it. They're pretty cheap anyways. Napa sells one for like $5.

Going to need more info than that... did it clear up? Was it belching smoke, how were you driving it? Is this truck tuned? Is it still messed up or did it go away? Need more info here, not much to go on.

The fuel smell is normal on a cold started diesel, since it's not burning it all. It still wont rev up like normal? Have you tried driving it again? Opened the hood and looked around? Might have been something simple like a boot blown off the intercooler!?

When you had the headgaskets done, did you send the heads to a machine shop to be checked?

Any codes?

What fuel/oil filter are you using?

What is your fuel pressure?

Is yours a early '04 or late '04?
