Default Ford 6.0 L EGR Delete

Dear Forum

I own a F550 6.0 L ford. I have 150 000 mostly off road miles on the unit. I have installed a couple of head gaskets. head studs egr systems at great expense.
Recenty i have installed the Egr delete. (capped off cooler and reinstalled y pipe) then shut down egr in computer with tuner. 200 mile on delete and truck works better then when new.

I am preparing for a 5000 mile highway run, I serviced the truck, oil and filter and air filter. immediatly after service truck runs terrible. loss of power, seems to run like engine is cold all the time.

My tuner has a code reader. 6 codes are displayed p0113, p0266, p0603, p1102, p2269, p2290.

Appreciate any input or suggestions.

Best Regard
Chris MacLeod

Welcome to Diesel Bombers Chris...

Going to move this thread to the 6.oh section... Should have somebody (Mike) swing by in a bit to give you some info on your codes...

P0113 is IAT out of range (intake air temp), probably just a chaffed wire, doubt it's really a big issue, but may want to take a peak under the hood at the wiring in this area

P0266 is a cylinder 2 contribution/balance fault

P0603 is KAM (keep alive memory) you'll get these from switching tunes, or sometimes it just pops up when scanning because the truck didn't do a "full" diagnostic test. It's basically nothing and will go away on it's own.

P1102 is a MAF out in range but lower than expected. Never seen this one before. Clean your MAF sensor (mass air flow sensor)

P2269 is water in fuel... have you drained the water separator down by the primary fuel filter?

P2290 is ICP (injection control pressure) too low.

Almost none of these are even related, or at least they don't point to a single problem. Start with draining the water, if you haven't done so.

What oil and oil filter are you using? What fuel filters are you using?

Clean your MAF sensor. Only use MAF cleaner, they sell this at the auto parts store in aerosol cans.

Injector code may mean you have one "hanging up" a bit, not a huge deal as long as the truck runs ok though. A couple bottles of Rev-X would probably make the truck run butter smooth and make that code go away.

The IAT is odd, but nothing I'd be overly concerned with. Is it possible something has hit the wires for the IAT and the MAF?

I'll have to think on this one a little bit.

Welcome to DB!

Well the situation has gone for the worst. Since I last posted I have logged another 5000 miles and the truck seem to be running worse every day.
I have changed the fuel filters and drained the water seperator twice. The truck runs terrible on a cold start. I also ran injection cleaner as well.
P0113, p0266, p0269, p0470, p1102, p2269, p2290.
Not sure what next steps should be considered.

Best Regards

Did you try any of the stuff I said? If you could answer some of the questions I posted we can move from there.

I drained the water seperator and changed fuel filters. I will trace the mass air flow censor today. The code that concerns me the most is now I have a fuel issue with number3 cylinder as well as number 2.

You can do an injector buzz test and a cylinder contribution test to see what's going on.
