so when my egr cooler and oil cooler come...
should i remove the carbon from the intake manifold? i dont have the time or money right now to take it some where to get dipped so i was thinking of just getting a gallon of carb parts cleaner, not the crc spray stuff, and just let it soak for a day is this a good idea or a waste of time?
also im gonna be cleaning the turbo as well using the directions ive found.
is there anything else i should do/clean/replace while im at it? it has a new hpop ipr icp and pig tail so that area is good blue spring mod has been done as well. just wondering if there is anything else i should do while im in there so i dont EVER have to do this again or at least for a very long time.

Most carb cleaners really won't get the gunk out of intake, use a presure washer after using some Simple Green, let it soak in a while and the presure wash through intake hole and the through each port. If you don't have access to a presure washer then take it to a self service car wash and use the presure washer there. looks like you got everything covered, Do you have the updated turbo feed line and drain tube?

thank you for reminding me about the turbo feed line and stuff. when i did the hpop i ment to get that part but i was using a part list off of another site. when i gave the guy at ford the part list the turbo feed line had the part number for the blue spring mod. i was a little up set but not too much considering the part i got wasnt useless. but yeah i need to get that thanks for reminding me

as far as the carb cleaner stuff what id be using isnt like the spray stuff its a dip i used it on an old dirt bike and it was the craziest stuff ive ever used. stuff that a wire brush had a hard time taking off came right off after soaking it over night. im not a huge fan of simple green has any one used purple power for cleaning it? also what is the benefit for cleaning the intake manifold?

straight purple power is pretty strong and works good, I had mine sitting in a parts washer overnight and it was tough to get off, the carb cleaner you are talking about is strong too, sometime you have to be carefull because it can eat aluminum if left in it too long, I've seen it eat threads off the top of a CR250 carb. make sure you take the air temp sendor out. You will need alot of that carb clean to soak the whole intake, I need 10 gallons in my parts washer to cover the whole thing up, that could get pricey, look at taking it to a trans shop and offer the guy $10 to put it in their steam cleaner.
