Air intakes are as hot a topic as mpg, but here's my input anyway: take the front cover aff of the box and slip in an AiRaid replacement filter. I have been using one since 2006, works fine.

EGT gauge is another must have. Shutting down above 400* can coke the oil in the turbo.

Check your FICM and either have it rebuilt for reliability or just send it in for a FICM tune and ECM tunes straight pipe and call it a day. People have dyno'ed 450/900+ with both. Also you should check your oil and coolant temps, there is a chance that if you flush it you will clog the oil cooler even more. Mine is at 204,000 miles on stock oil cooler and gold coolant, if it aint broke done fix it

cool thanks guys. anything else please keep it coming.. i am going to do the coolant flush and coolant filter this weekend. i did get an extended 3 yr 36k mile warranty that covers just about everything so i am going to wait a bit before deleting. i dont know if the oasis report is good or bad. all it has been in for is recalls and a bad fuel gauge sending unit and that was back in 2009. nothing else. so i am not sure what has been done outside of warranty. i have only driven it 30miles but man is it nice so far. i am hauling the camper this weekend camping about 200 miles each way so i will let yall know how she does.

Using a 5-40 synthetic oil helps prevent injector stiction. IMO, only use Motorcraft or Racor oil and fuel filters. Be very **** about maintenance.

Dieselfiltersonline.com has good prices on filters.

I just put the 15w-40 valvoline in mine last oil change cause it was on sale... worst oil I've used so far in the 6.0, made it run like garbage and terrible stiction when I first fire it up. Rotella was much cleaner running.

If you want to use the valvoline, definitely get the 5w-40 synthetic stuff, a lot of 6.0 guys use that, it's supposed to be great. I'd recommend that or Rotella 5w-40 T6. Also heard good things about Amsoil (I've used that previous, $$$) and Schaffers.

10K on Rotella T with a clean oil analysis to back it up.

Well just got back from my trip... It was amazing. Hauled the camper (7500k) with no issues. 68mph with cruise control set. I was shocked at how nice it pulls. Also just got done detailing it. Man I love this truck. So rotella 5-40 is what I will use then!

just a little update. i have 600 miles on the truck so far... this truck is badass. i love everything about it.. except i dont get to drive it enough! ( i have a comany car.. so it sits alot) i have the coolant filter to install still and i am going to order an edge cst soon. Great truck, couldn't be happier with my choice so far. all i read is junk on the 6.0 so i figured i would write some good.

Glad to hear you like it man. Just keep yourself well educated on it and stay on top of your maintenance. That way, no surprises, and it will treat you well.
