Default straight pipes

I have a 2004 ford f350 with early 6.0 and I'm thinking of putting straight pipe on it. Are there any problems after I install it. Like code light?

Thanks
Alton

The smile on your face might scare people if they didn't hear ya comin, and that thing oughta , no codes, better mileage, better sound, lower EGTs, all good things.

If you're going to go straight pipe, save yourself some headaches and $ by going straight to a bigger system. I nickel and dimed my way to a straight pipe because it kept sounding better and better. A turbo back 4" system is awesome. If you have the means to hold up the transmissoin, it may help to remove the x-cross member when doing the install.

I have an 03 with the mbrp 4" turbo back straight pipe and I have to admit second to a supercharged big block chevy with a straight pipe n cams its the most bad a** sounding exhaust ive ever heard it has a loud turbo whistle that sounds like a jet mixed with a crazy growling sound that's unexplainable and I have had 1car on the freeway and two on the street stop me to ask what i have in that thing when I tell them just the exhaust they look at me like "thats it?!?!" Because it sounds like its faster than hell. You won't be let down. However for me the install was a PITA mainly because my stock down pipe had this metal wrap on it which increased the diameter a ton on top of that my leaf spring is hitting the last pipe so I'm gonna be taking it to a muffler shop to get it either turned down or pulled away from the spring. Theoretically you should get better mpg but that might be true if you could keep your foot off the throttle. Also the turbo muffles alot of the sound so its not crazy loud its a perfect amount when you want it

Yep, the 03 trucks had the fiberglass insulation wrap on the downpipe, PITA. I just cut the stock downpipes usually, instead of messing with the trans x-member.

Yup that's what i did. I broke the saws all out and went to town. Has any one else had a prob with their mbrp rubbing on the leaf spring?

If you are referring to a 4 inch with a 4 inch down tube, yes, I have seen that contact the leaf spring shackle. I have a 3.5" down tube and have no issues contact.
