I've been feeling this weird vibration and humming noise which I thought was coming from the right front hub, but recently when I accelerate a LITTLE excessive the rear end seems like its sliding to the right, kinda like only one tire is putting out the torque... I'm 2000 mile from home in North Dakota working and the next available spot at the local mechanic is in two weeks before he can even look at it! any suggestion... It's been humming and vibrating for the last few hundred miles on the way up here... But now it seems like only one wheel is putting out the power?

 

Worse case senerio pull the drive shaft and axles and go home in front wheel drive

 

Buy a tube of Black silicone/RTV/ and 3 quarts of 90-140 gear oil and open it up to see what is going on. Just a sid note hear, even if you spin both tires the truck will always kick to the right, it a torque thing because the way the axle plants to the left harder than to the right, that is why you normally get the right rear to spin.

 

Humming and vibration could be a U joint.

Not just in the bed, could be anywhere with one of those bullets. Now that I think about it the gal at the store today did kinda have a funny look on her face.
