I wouldn't bother. Just get an SCT with custome tunes. You can get a real nice towing tune that uses the VGT on the turbo to act like an exhaust brake. It works really well.

"IF" buddies truck has the tow control, it should suffice. I pull 21.5 / 22K w/ my '05 F350 and no problems. Do have some 6% grades here on I-5, and I-15. My '05 F350 PSD c.cab dually is GVW'd at 23.5K or there-a-bouts, ain't it???

W/ my old '88 F350 6.9 IDI, I routinely pulled the same setup with out any tow control. I did drive defensively though, i.e. if I went up hill in 2nd or 3rd, that is what I came down in. And did not ride the brakes, just applied when, and then let off to cool. Try it?

Thanks for the advice some times the tow control works a little but we start to speed up alot and his rpm almost red line so he truns it off sometimes ... So we r trying to c if there is any aftermarket stuff that would help us ..we r ordering a tuner tomorrow ...we said that we need to drop anchors of the back of the trailer to help stop off sometimes

The exhaust braking through the VGT will just help that brake control even further. You can't fully rely on the exhaust braking alone, it will just help tremendously with your normal brakes. Use your brakes to cut a little speed and let the engine/turbo do the majority of the work.

Call Eric @ Innovative Diesel up, you NEED custom tunes for this to work right.
