In The Same Boat
so to speak...
my 03 F350 CCLB 6.0 has 169K on it and I was at the decision time of do I want to try to flip it and upgrade to a newer one, or try to do some major preventive/slight performance work and see if I can stretch its lifetime.
I'm having the following done:
Sinister solution kit
-OEM gaskets/ARP studs
-oil cooler
-Sinister EGR cooler
Sinister Coolant Filter Kit
Powermax Turbo
Warren 175cc/stock nozzles(hoping these will add just a bit more fuel but not smoke too much and pass smog on tow tune no problem)
AirdogII
Blue Spring
6.4 Banjo Bolts
SCT with custom tunes(SRL+, and maybe one of them hotter ones, and unlimited tow to hopefully pass smog is the plan I think)
While in there figured might as well do:
power steering pump/hoses(pressure hose from hydraboost leaks like a **** at the pump)
water pump
degass reservoir(leaks fromunda- cracked I think)
coolant hoses
thermostat
oil & coolant temp sensors
EGR valve(its throwing codes)
I found Rock Auto to be a good source for the second set of stuff above
I'm hoping it puts down 430-450 and feels much less sluggish and laggy(its all pretty much stock now) without smoking too much or breaking the trans too soon
I look forward to following this thread and reading how yours goes, I will post my seat of the pants results once done in the next 3-4weeks

dang man we just about have the same build idea. Im very interested in what you think of the powermax and 175cc/stock nozzle setup with matts tunes. As he is one of the people im looking at to tune mine. As for my progress, well im hoping to have it done in late june early july. (I have to line it up with a time good for my mech to tie up half his shop with my truck and me be out to sea so i dont need it to get to work)

On your build: A RR does nothing to remove the air from the fuel. An ounce of prevention..... You can do a RR cab on JEEZ you got arms like a giraffe has legs.

For FICM tuning,
Bill from PHP does this, and has quite a few options, and is also the least expensive.
Innovative tunes, Swamps offers it as well, but they just send to Innovative for tuning.
KEM also does this, they're the most expensive, but I've heard great things.
I will be doing the full gryphon from Bill @ PHP and getting ALL of his FICM tunes so I can swap around and try different one's out.

I bet it will. I am hoping to have everything for the build done around end of june or mid july. But we just found a house so.......... It might have to wait till later in the summer/fall. And I just bought a radiator, coolant filter kit, degas bottle, and billet water pump and all new hoses for the cooling system. Man this truck will be the first truck i actually do spend money on maintence upgrades . But it has been a great truck and i kind of expect to spend a little money on a truck with 17xxx miles. They dont last forever. Oh and i got an sct and some KEM tunes for it also. Probably going to use KEM to tune the FICM once I do the build too. Speeking of which I need to check my FICM when i get back in port. Always something.

I've heard GREAT things about Mike @ KEM's tuning. His tuning is the most expensive as far as FICM tuning is concerned, @$300, but again, heard GREAT things about it.
When the time comes I'm going with the Gryphon thru Bill @ PHP, simply because I can load different FICM tunes on for different times.
