They never have it on the shelf when I go, and when they do it's not enough for an oil change. I'll have to keep that in mind, but I HIGHLY doubt it's that cheap in the stores. Actually, I know it's not, I would have bought it last time I was there, I think they were about the same price as AA. I might call my local store just to see.

What oil are you referring to? A 5w-40, still meets the same 40wt bracket per the SAE J300 with better cold flow properties than the 15w40. The 10w-30 has a lighter operating weigh obv. but I know some people have run it in hot conditions with good results. Check out bob is the oil guy.... lots and lots of UOAs there.

So long it is diesel rated (CI or Cj 4) you should be fine. Outside of Canada there isn't that many 5w30 diesel oils. Amsoil makes a good one... Spendy but good. Unless you live near the artic circle I doubt you will notice much of a difference between it and 10w30
