I had those HID's in mine, just pulled them out, the sucked. The light scattered everywhere, high beam was all but useless, then on cold nights when I switched from high to low a couple times the lights went completely out on me.... that's right, black out at 65mph on country roads. No thanks. Sometimes one light would come on, the other wouldn't, I would also get flashed all the time because the stock housing is incapable of directing an HID light correctly.

I think I paid like $55 for mine, they were 5000k 35W. I threw most of it in the trash, complete crap. Lasted maybe a year before they got really bad. Didn't even want to bother with the warranty, I hated them anyways.

If you want good HID's, get the digital Retro-Solutions kits. They're much better quality.

I'm no electrical guru. When mine HID's crapped out (finally ticked me off enough to ditch them) I just tossed them and honestly I put the stock bulbs back in. Not as "bright" but it's more usable light. People think just because the light is super bright it's better, but if it's not directed properly it doesn't help much. The kits they're talking about are the cheap electro-mechanical high beam setups. Which means they're low beam, and when you trigger high beam, it just moves the bulb inside. The good kits have two separate bulbs. One of mine would flicker between high and low just going over bumps because of the mechanism.

Also I did have to remove my headlights to do this. Pop the grill off, then there are 4 screws holding the headlights on, really not too bad.

My buddy had these same HID's in his ranger and his were even worse, the light output was blinding to other drivers, but didn't really light up the road much. He took his out before I did, and he did a TON of research on what were good standard bulbs to get. I will ask him and get back to you.
