New truck have a few questions about initial upgrades
#12
Well Mike it seems like so many guys are asking for absolutes and guarantees, that if you offer information you really should attach a disclaimer. To many new guys that dont do any reading and to many idiots posting help that dont have a clue. I just read through a thread on another forum where a new guy jump started a years old thread about the Quadzilla and up pops the same guy spouting the same dribble as always telling this guy the Quad has engine safeguards and transmission safeguards built in and it cant hurt your truck and it makes way more power, but apparently still hasnt been able to get any dyno proof. So what happens when jr gets all giddy because after a few minutes on the computer on a "Powerstroke" site with a well seasoned "expert" with 20+ years working on diesels and millions of miles on the road as a truck driver tells him the Quad he already bought is the shizzle? He will be back at a later date wanting information on where is the best place to get a transmission or head gaskets because the stupid engine in his POS truck sucks and now he has to put more money in it. How many threads, polls and even stickys have we seen about programmers? How many will we see in the next week or month? There are pages and pages of lively discusion out there, so if someone doesnt take a little time and educate themselves BEFORE they spend their money, is it the truck that is a stupid POS? I think not.
Wow, this turned into a wierd rant! I shouldnt get on the computer when Im tired

What's even funnier about that... I even know the thread you're talking about. I even responded to it earlier. You cant fix stupid no matter what.
You're absolutely right, and I've had to walk away from several threads like that. The truth is not one single product will work for everyone, we all have different tastes, needs, budgets etc... so maybe the quadzilla will work for someone, maybe not. The only thing we can do is put out the knowledge and hope whoever reading is smart enough to draw their own conclusions.
