They sell that socket at Nappa, saw one at my store when I was looking for something else, I always just used a big crescent wrench when turbo was removed.

you do know the TPS sensor is a whole new gas pedal don't you? I thought I had an issue too and bought one and the dealer said they couldn't recall ever having to replace one, might want to check all you connections at tps and on the drivers side fenderwell, sometimes it helps to disconnect them and plug them back in.

Well replaced tps and it didn't change...

Scanned it and still only getting p2284

Checked icp vs icp and it's good but at one point the actual was like 850 and desired was only 550?

I found a write up about the CMP... And it says it can be bad but not trigger a code... And when I pulled it I set it on my bumper and forgot about it, and kind of drove away and lost it!!!

This things got me going nuts and I'm trying to save him money bc he already got screwed...

It's so weird it straightens right out instantly when you increase the idle... And the idle seems to be high, it idles at like 800 rpms...

You can't drive the truck bc of the throttle response when your driving makes the truck seem like its doing a wot when your just barley accelerating...

Checked all the wires and can't find a broken or chaffed wire...

So next step is new CMP bc I lost it, then ipr even this I hate throwing parts at it but I'm lost and can't seem to find any clues...

It doesnt sound like a throttle position sensor issue. On an 06 that's on the accelerator pedal assembly only. Bleed out the air then recheck. But if the rpms still shoot with minimal throttle its normally an IPR. If he didnt clean the IPR screen or even inspect it that could be the issue. And when you get the parts list look at labor too. High ball for labor on a job like that should be 24hours. And thats stretching it.

It's got to be the IPR. It's hard to make the socket without the sensor out. Just go buy one its not that expensive. Any parts store should have one. That way you dont have to remove the turbo.

NAPA should have it, they might not even know what they have, it was on a peghook at my store along with a bunch of other tools like o2 sensor sockets. I just unhooked the turbo and pulled it to the left enough to get to it with my 35mm or 36mm wrench, same ones i use for oil filter and fuel filter, sorry I can't remember exactly which one it is, got a whole set of the big wrenches from Harbour freight for about 40 bucks.

Definitely sounds like the IPR at this point. For the CMP or the CKP to go bad... VERY rare.

Pulling the IPR and inspecting it should have been at the top of the priority list. Get r done!

Is it possible to remove it without the socket and pulling the turbo?
