If you are going to do the EGR cooler delete that is the perfect time to do the oil cooler, its right there under the intake wich you are going to have off anyway for the delete. between the oil cooler, egr delete and put a coolant filter on too, that will cost you around $500 if you do it yourself. if you have the basic metric tools you should be able to do this in one day. then you will have a nice reliable truck, headstuds can wait as long as you don't push it too far, watch your EGTs. oil cooler repair kit is #3c3z-6a642-ca and they are about $250 from Tousley Ford, they have some of the best prices Iv'e found.

How much weight is the setup you're pulling? You were running 199 what? What is that supposed to be? I'm confused. Is that oil temp? Coolant temp?

199 doesn't sound that hot if you were pulling some weight around!?

Well water weighs 8lbs per gallon so 340 gallon (if you were maxed out) x 8lbs = 2720lbs, plus whatever else you had, lets call an even 4klbs. Not a TON of weight, but enough to notice you're towing something. Honestly those temps don't sound bad to me. You're still under 200* towing...

How many miles are on this truck? An oil cooler rebuild and an EGR delete wouldn't hurt as preventative maintenance, and you could buy the parts for under $500 and do it yourself. Not hard of a job.

there is basically a heat exchanger inside a housing that has the oilfilter housing on top of it, take that whole housing off and change out the heat exchanger part. gonna have to take off the intake then the oilcooler housing is right underneath of that, a good afternoons work.
