Default 6.0 died and won't start

I'm working on a 2005 IC school bus with a VT365 (6.0) that died while running a route the other day. I checked the ICP and it's only 60psi while cranking, it needs at least 800 psi to open the injectors and normally operates at 3000 psi when running. I'm not sure what to check. Could the oil rails have a leak? Stuck ICP regulator? It was running fine before it up and died so I don't believe the high pressure pump went out. Any suggestions?

Thank's

Ken

sounds like high press oil leak to me. need to pressurize high press. system with air and find the leak.

STC fitting on the HPOP, don't have to replace the whole pump but what usually happens is it will start cold but it won't start once it is hot, this is a very common problem, also check the screen on the IPR valve to make sure its not clogged or busted.

I feel like I answered this somewhere else already...

It needs 525psi to fire the injectors, and runs up closer to 4000psi under WOT.

If desired is up and actual is nothing, first check low oil pressure. When you crank the key, can you see the oil pressure gauge move on the dash? If it's coming up, you have low pressure, but no high pressure. Could be a few things. If it starts and runs but has trouble restarting when hot, it's probably just a small leak. If it died and wont restart at all, probably the HPOP itself. If you were replacing the HPOP, I would 100% replace the standpipes/dummy plugs and the STC fitting at that time too. All of these parts minus the pump have been updated.

Wouldn't hurt to pull the IPR valve and inspect it too, there is also a "rebuild" update for the IPR valve, comes with a new screen and new o-rings. I'd also get the updated HPOP screen, new metal one instead of the old fiber ones. I have all the P/N's if you need them.

Thank's for all the info! It's going to be awhile before I get to check it out since it's going take a decent amount of time to do. I'll make sure to post up after I get it fixed. Currently I've got an injector to replace on a 7.3, a lift pump on a non turbo 7.3, and an injector on a maxxforce 7, and an allison trans to swap out on an IC school bus. Just finished up a maxxforce 7 that had bad fuel lines, a broken primer pump, and a bad injector. Also just replace a turbo on a DT466 that had the compressor housing snap off from the rest of the turbo. It's been nuts around here
