Finally pulled the trigger I went with the 4" turbo back straight pipe I'm stoked can't wait for it to arrive I also got a single wall slant cut tip. My neighbors had my truck towed a few weeks ago and call the cops every time I have two people over so I can't wait till I can **** them off as much as they **** me off when I let that 03 turbo scream at 5am leaving for work

Also do you guys think ill see any gains in mpg with this? I told my wife that it was gonna give me 8mpg gains hahaha its the only way she wouldnt get pissed by me spending the money on something she's gonna hate hahaha.

Also is it gonna smoke at all at WOT? Im not looking to fill the street as if a oil refinery went up in flames I dont even care to have it smoke and im sure I'm gonna get criticized for this but it would be nice to give the guy in a prius a little something to choke on when they won't let me over only cause I cant get out of the car and choke the guy in a cardigan and loafers my self... Haha

 

your not gana see much increase in MPG's... also, a tuner is the only way it will smoke at all.

 

You'll probably see a drop as a direct result of how cool it sounds! If it doesn't smoke now, it won't with the new exhaust, but you should feel a little umph.

Had your truck towed, huh? I'd let it idle in the morning just to tick them off! If you think it's a whistler now, wait till you get your exhaust on, it's going to be a I LIKE TURTLES screamer!!

Since you have gone through the top end already, I would invest in either a LiveWire or an X-3 if you already have gauges from SCT. Custom tunes and a straight piped '03 sound like LOVE!

 

As far as going through the top end I've only replaced the hpop I'm to scared to tune it because if I blew the head gasket I'd be out of a truck for months and my a$$ would prob be on the couch haha trust me though if there was zero issue with tuning it or even if the HG job wasn't such a pain tuning it would be done already. However i think the guy i bought it from had a tuner on it because the a piller was reinstalled poorly and there are drill holes under the dash that look like something was mounted there but I'm not 100% sure God id love to put an sct on it or send my ficm to PPE

That 03 turbo is going to screaaaam. You wont get any smoke, and honestly doing the batmowheel probably wont help you with anything since you don't really have any extra fuel to clean up now. I'd wait on that myself and spend the money on some gauges or something. I just don't see it benefiting you much right now.

Sorry, I just remembered following along as you had such a rough time repairing your truck. My FASCINATING reading and comprehension skills at work again!

I have been running a tune on mine for about 50K (Edge incl. Hot Unlock, IDP Xtreme Race, Gear Head's SRL), my first one had detune/defuel safeties that probably saved my HG and I learned not to hit the loud pedal until COMPLETELY up to temp. Get gauges FIRST!

The pillar could have been gauges only, esp if it has stock exhaust. Look at the bottom of the exhaust manifolds, a plug will indicate an EGR probe of some sort was used.

You don't think the batmo wheel will do much on stock sticks? Well i guess ill wait till my injectors start going out then ill just tell my wife the stock size ones give me bad mpg and for a little more ill be getting way better mpg haha I gotta stop using the better mpg card to get parts for my truck because at the end up it she will be expecting 100mpg and will soon catch on that i have been full of **** haha

So not all tunes will cause a hg failure? Because if not a sct is next on the list. I just dont know how im gonna convince my wife to not b!tch about getting one... I've been preparing here on studs by telling her that the head bolts are junk so if my hg does go she will demand I stud it and I told her about the mpg gains with an sct so she will force me to get a tuner as well hahaha

For the record being as I've talked about my wife controling my part spending is because i had a jeep that I spent every dime on in a bad way in the end I had a 91 Cherokee that had over 20k in parts I broke something every weekend and when i sold it i only got 5k for it. On top of that I've sold and bought a different truck every 4-6 mo for the past 3years so in her eyes im not gonna keep it, which i will for a while I love my ford, and any money put into the truck will not be a good investment. Plus we just had our first kid 4 mo ago so loud and fast is something she see un nessasary haha. So I understand where she is coming from but she doesn't understand that i NEED the fastest loudest truck ever built hahaha
