The new solenoid will only help the new trans last longer too. There is no reason a 5R110 shouldn't last at these relatively low power levels, with proper tuning.

A reman trans from San Tan Transmission in Arizona, upgraded valve body and converter.

The new solenoid will only help the new trans last longer too. There is no reason a 5R110 shouldn't last at these relatively low power levels, with proper tuning.
I specifically asked about the Go-Go solenoid and they told me it was not needed with their valve body upgrades. Furthermore, the valvebody upgrades increased the warranty terms to 30 months. Just need to find a tranny guy to sign off on a proper install, no biggie.

Was it really that long ago? It's still sitting in my pile of parts, but I also haven't been driving the truck much. Hopefully put it in real soon. I have a tentative date of the second weekend of Nov to put the cab up and do the studs... keeping my fingers crossed.
