Joe, if you need to try out a different FICm I have one here that is stock tuned, came off a buddy's truck,04, but I don't want to sell that one because we changed out a spare I had on to his truck to see if it would help and we are going to put his back on whenever he gets a chance to come over. But I will lend it to you to see if it straightens out your truck. Also thaat oil leak may be part of your problem, if you have an early 04 truck then it is safe to say the ICp sensor has gone bad and is leaking oil through it, it will make the truck run rough and sometimes make it real hard to start, it can even cut off on you, normally at idle or slowing for stopsign. if you don't have a sensor going through your passenger side valve cover right behind the glowplug module then it is an early 04.

Oh, by the way mine isn't an early model. manufacture date Jan 2004. I only had four screws on the FICM.

Okay guys, I resoldered the FICM this weekend and installed the blue spring upgrade. No more DTC 611. Now I have a DTC 300 (random misfire) and 675 (glow plug #5 failure). No problem starting. About four time on the way home (hour and a half drive), my engine idle was going up and down. No smoke.
How do I fix the misfire? What do I need to check on the Glow Plug?
As always thanks! Joe

What's the full code? P0300 I'm assuming right? That's an odd code for a 6.0. I've seen it only a handful of times and the cause seems to be different every time. I would clear it and see if it comes back. Once in a while it will snag the cylinder that is actually misfiring too so you'll get like a P0306 or something. Keep checking it and see if you can pinpoint the cylinder. I would go ahead and replace that glow plug though, it may just be misfiring upon first start up due to the bad glow plug (no heat, can't fire properly). You can do a test of the glow plug, check the resistance of the plug. You need to test from the glow plug to battery ground. Each plug should read between .1 and 2 ohms. Use motorcraft glow plugs only, and make sure you get the one's for your year. You may need the VIN at the dealer to get the right one's.
