JOE,I have a brand new one sitting on the shelf in garage, would sell it at less than 1/2 price, only problem is you would have to get it tuned, maybe a good opertunity to get some Innovative tunes on your truck.I'd even meet you half way for delivery, little over an hour from you.

 

bobfbigman, I already have tunes from Eric at Innovative. I had him send me his Street, Extreme Street and a Tow Tune. I wanted to make sure the truck was okay before I did any changes. I'm just wanting to get better gas mileage. I have consistantly ran in the upper teens. 17 - 18

So how much we talking? Half-price? I haven't completely tested it yet. But, the DTC Code P0611 keep coming up.

Where are you located?

Also, do diesels need to be "blown out" like some gas engines? I rarely go over 2k RPM. I haven't pulled a load in a long time. Most daily driving to and from work!

I got into it this afternoon and saw no smoke of anytype in the mirrors.

It is good to clear them out every now and then, keeps the turbo from getting too gummed up, I'm not talking a sustained 4K romping but it won't hurt to excelerate quicky up to highway speed when getting on onramp.

bobfbigman, I still don't fully understand how this programming works. I currently have SCT's Performance Street loaded and the stock ford settings saved. I installed a new FICM, could I restore the Stock load from my SCT?

 

the only way to tune a ficm is to have it sent to a programmer or I know innovative has a guy that can do it at there place by appointment, at least they used to. The programming for the SCt is for the engine computer not the FICM, that is why people send the FICM out to be programmed or to Ford for programming.

 

A new FICM from Ford comes without ANY software on it, so you need to bring it to the dealer and have them "program" it, not the same as your SCT programmer. The FICM itself needs something on it or the truck wont run.

Which sponsors on here program FICMs? I have read allot about not getting the latest program from Ford severely drop the gas mileage. Since I'm doing all this to better my mileage, I would prefer not to start farther from my goal.

Also, I live in Indian Head, MD, is there a sponsor or do you guys know someone that works on 6.0s? I would figure that if you recommend them, they should be good. While I was changing the exhaust, I noticed some oill coming from the rear corner passenger side. With all the codes, I wondering if it might be better to take and have some look at it. HELP!!!

Power Hungry Performance are basically our local resident FICM specialists. They can do rollbacks to older programs (the one's that actually gave our 6.0's decent fuel mileage) and performance tunes as well. You can just google the name, or I'm sure someone from PHP will stop in and say hi here.

You have a few options where you are (lucky bastage).

Innovative Diesel (one of the best 6.0 tuners on the planet) are in MD, and so is MPD (maryland performance diesel). Two GREAT 6.0 shops.
