OIL IN MY EXHAUST!!!!
so in an earlier post a couple of Days ago i Posted about white smoke at idle or take off....
Well ive done a little invetingating and found that i am burning oil in my exhaust! enough that when i swipe my finger across the tip, its wet, really wet... So im assuming Turbo seals are going out.... How long do i have? Im 700 miles from home and its appearently been leaking for sometime now and its gotten bad enough to actually get my attention, it pretty much constantly smoking right now unless im doing the speed limit..... which means its burning it off at a rate that i dont notice it.... any suggestions or advice would help... I am a new diesel owner and really dont know **** about these things.....
Thanks guys for all your help!

How long do you have? Til when?
My cousin just had this happen on a road trip in his 06. He had added 3 quarts of oil already and finally started losing serious power, started throwing turbo codes, mostly P0299 (turbo underboost). He was still able to limp it to a shop to get it fixed, but I'd fix the issue sooner than later.
If you just want another stock turbo, check the powerstroke forums for a used one, usually can get one between $250 and $400, depending on year and mileage.
If you want new, get a new powermax from Garrett. It's a direct bolt in replacement, spools like stock, flows a little more up top, and is all around a great turbo. They run about $1200 new.

i just want to know if i can make it back 700 miles i actually have another stock turbo in my barn at the house, guess i need to check my oil then... im not really recognizing any substantial powerloss, but thats not to say that i wont on the way home... if it goes out completely im assuming i wont be able to drive this beast without the turbo....
