I wish thanks anyway that would have been great buffalo is where i took my deisel specialty class and driveability that was when the 6.0s where fresh we did tear downs on them and things like that which internally are a very well built motor if only they where a common rail fuel system they would be better...do you know anywhere to pick up a good scanner for a decent price where you can control, monitor, and record pids

Yep, quite a few of our sponsors sell it I believe, get AutoEnginuity with the enhanced Ford bundle. it's ~$355 shipped typically, just need a labtop to run it on. I use a 10.1" Acer netbook, it's small so it fits on my 08 center console nice and I think I bought mine used for $160 on craigslist. New netbooks are still only like $300. They're pretty basic, but they've got more than enough oomph to run AE. AE is quite powerful too. You can basically monitor any of the PID's, you can do cylinder contribution tests, injector buzz tests, cycle turbo vanes at idle, shut injectors off, etc.

Yes that AE package includes the cord. That's pare of the reason for the price, I believe the cord itself has it's own serial number and locks to the software. It's really a great package for the price.
You can actually monitor those PID's through a handheld SCT too, using a labtop and SCT's free software "livelink" but it's a little more crude than AE, and AE can do a lot more. SCT can monitor whatever PID's you can get through the OBD port though... I datalogged with mine before and it will even dump it to an excel spreadsheet for you.

Hey I guys I've been reading these post about the no start and was just wondering what this ae package is you guys are talking about. I changed my icp sensor also confirmed good oil presure from the hpop. Have been messing with this thing for about four days now and I don't have a clue I can't get any codes but I think I am trying for generic codes. Was just hoping some one could tell me more about this ae package you guys aee talking about
Thanks jesse
